Our Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Resilience, Sustainability & Digitalisation in Critical Infrastructure is now available as a free, open-access resource designed to provide learners around the world with a taste of high-quality higher education. Developed by the University of Birmingham with funding from the Horizon Europe MSCA-SE project ReCharged (Grant Agreement No. 101086413), the course is led by Professor Dr. Stergios A. Mitoulis, alongside contributions from our consortium partners.
The course brings together world-class expertise to support both general audiences and specialized professionals, offering life-long learning and professional development.
Implemented as an interactive, web-based platform on FutureLearn, this MOOC allows learners to engage with academic content created by senior faculty, consistently updated to reflect student feedback and ensure its relevance.
The curriculum is comprehensive, covering all elements of a university-taught module: it includes prerequisites, learning outcomes, attributes for sustainable professional development, recommended study hours, assessment guidelines, and a detailed reading list. The MOOC also provides engaging and varied content, featuring warm-up sessions, podcasts, videos, lecture notes, recorded lectures, and other activities tailored to a wide audience.
